SYMPHONY X Singer RUSSELL ALLEN To Join East Coast Production Of TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA
November 2, 2013SYMPHONY X and ADRENALINE MOB singer Russell Allen will be part of the East Coast production of the legendary TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA this holiday season. His first show is scheduled for November 13 in Toledo, Ohio.
TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA is a rock orchestra founded in 1996 by Paul O'Neill, Robert Kinkel, and Jon Oliva (SAVATAGE). The band's musical style is often described in different terms, incorporating progressive rock, symphonic metal, and heavy metal, with influences from classical music.
In a 2010 interview, Oliva stated about TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA: "We are not restricted to just four or five people in a band. There are like 50-60 different musicians and singers, string players and choir people that we use.
"To me, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA is a very open canvas, because we have that comfort to be able to use whomever we want whenever we want. We're not working inside of a box.
"When it was called SAVATAGE, we couldn't do songs like 'Remnants Of A Lullaby' or things like that with a band of that name, because people just wouldn't have accepted it. I think TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA has opened up a lot of doors for us. I don't feel any kind of restrictions."
